Hurray!!! iBanding has made its debut appearance at a startup event at the Echelon 27 in Vietnam! Echelon or better known as e27, is a two-day event which aims to empower entrepreneurs by providing a platform for technology entrepreneurs to come for the sharing of experience and vision for the future. It also offers an opportunity for start-up companies from across the APAC region to introduce their companies to visitors and potential investors.
Echelon Vietnam 2016 hosted 17 exhibitors from mainly around the region. We were very happy to be among the seventeen that were present. A lot of ideas were exchanged among the entrepreneurs and better understanding gained about Asia’s surging technology ecosystem. Although Echelon Vietnam was a rather small event, it was a great place to be nevertheless, especially if one is looking for an early exposure to the tech world in the Asian region. “You start small before you go into the major league“, some wise man once said.

In the same week, Singapore’s First Fintech Festival took place with over 11,000 visitors and much larger number of startup companies that exhibited their businesses. The FINTECH Festival was a week-long event with all the big shots in the region being present. This is major league and we hope to be there to present our company in 2017. We will cover Singapore’s Fintech event in a separate article in more detail. Now back to our little journey in Vietnam.

The E27 event was a great success. We had the opportunity to meet with and talked to many visitors from the Asia Pacific region. Most memorable discussion we had was with our neighboring booth Dewtouch from Singapore. If you are interested in Motor Workshop Software check them out.
It was fun to talk to them and it helped make the hot weather in Ho Chi Minh city bearable. Our bunting and a little USB fan that we upgraded with two plastic cups of ice to create an aircon also cooled our booth a little. This is the downside of having the event taking place at the Independence Palace. It is a historic place, but not much space inside and not enough time for us to explore.

The bunting served as great shadow maker in the glaring hot afternoon sun in Ho Chi Minh
On a serious side, we made great contact with Venture Capitalist to learn about their investment requirements. This will be important, once we look for further investments to grow our company. It was a great experience and it won’t be our last.
